André Santos Campos

Nota biográfica

André Santos Campos (PhD Universidade de Lisboa, 2009) é investigador auxiliar (Investigador FCT) na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. A sua investigação principal concentra-se em temas localizados na intersecção de áreas como a Filosofia Política, a Ética, a Filosofia do Direito e a História da Filosofia. As suas publicações têm surgido em revistas conceituadas das suas áreas de especialização, com alcance nacional e internacional, assim como em editoras como Routledge, Bloomsbury e Palgrave Macmillan. Venceu prémios para o melhor ensaio filosófico atribuídos pela Sociedade Portuguesa de Filosofia (2013) e pelo CIJVS (2019). Em 2019, a British Academy conferiu-lhe o Brian Barry Prize in Political Science pela qualidade do ensaio "Representing the Future". É o autor de Jus sive Potentia (CFUL, 2010), de Spinoza’s Revolutions in Natural Law (Palgrave MacMillan, 2012), e de Glosas Abertas de Filosofia do Direito (Quid Juris, 2013); é também editor de Spinoza: Basic Concepts (Imprint Academic, 2016), Spinoza and Law (Routledge, 2016), e co-editor de Challenges to Democratic Participation (Lexington Books, 2014) e de Sovereignty as Value (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020). Mais recentemente, traduziu para língua portuguesa a obra clássica de Samuel Pufendorf, Do Dever do Homem e do Cidadão Segundo a Lei Natural (De officio) (Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, 2019). Desde 2018, é co-editor da segunda série do Dicionário de Filosofia Moral e Política.
